Nieuwe Goodkind aangekondigd, Jordan uitgesteld

Phedre had twee bijzondere nieuwtjes over de nieuwe Jordan- en Goodkind-vertalingen. Eerst het goede nieuws: The Naked Empire van Terry Goodkind zal naar verwachting in oktober verkrijgbaar zijn, onder de naam Het Weerloze Rijk. Het slechte nieuws is dat Viersprong van de Schemer van Robert Jordan is uitgesteld naar 14 september.

I am pleased to announce that the next book, scheduled for release in early 2005, will be the first volume in the Chainfire Trilogy. This new book, CHAINFIRE, is the beginning of the story that is the grand conclusion to the Sword of Truth series.

The Chainfire Trilogy introduces a new story line to the series which will be the core background story to the trilogy and at the same time bring to a conclusion the ongoing story of the entire series.

In order to give readers a taste of what is to come, the first chapter in the Chainfire Trilogy will be released in the paperback of Naked Empire, due out in a few weeks.

It is now official: the Sword of Truth series will conclude with the Chainfire Trilogy.

I'm really excited by this event, and by the story. It will be beyond what anyone expects, or could possibly prepare for. The first sentence opening this chilling adventure is:

"How much of this blood is his?"

So you read it here first people. The SOT series ends in three more books.
Also Chainfire is now confirmed to be the title of book 9.

To avoid confussion. These books are part of the SOT series. No one said they were going to be about new people. All that was said is it starts a new story arc that will take place over the next three books. This is different in that Terry always wrote one story per book. These 3 books will also bring an end to the overal SOT series plot of Jagag and he Order. This does not mean Terry will never agian write a book about this world.

Is dat niet tegenstrijdig? 'The SOT series ends in three more books' en ' This does not mean Terry will never agian write a book about this world'? Nou ja, nog drie boeken is een mooi aantal om de serie tot een einde te brengen, ander wordt het behoorlijk lang.

dat vind ik niet tegenstrijdig. Dat de serie afloopt hoeft niet te betekenen dat een eventuele nieuwe serie niet in de zelfde wereld kan afspelen.
De SOT serie gaat voornamelijk over Richard en zijn zwaard. Een nieuwe serie kan ergens anders overgaan maar toch in die wereld afspelen.

Dat hoeft voor mij niet zo. Ik vond Debt of Bones geen geweldig verhaal, net zoals ik de ontmoeting van Lan en Moirane van Jordan ook geen geweldig verhaal vond. Van mij mag hij gewoon deze serie afmaken en dan in een nieuwe wereld beginnen, maar dat heeft er niet zoveel mee te maken dat zijn boek uitkomt. Misschien moet ik een discussie opstarten in de bibiotheek
